Best Dressed 

Kim Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner

I beg you, adopt me! I love how co-ordinated these three ladies have been on the red carpet recently and the VMAs were no exception. Youngest sibling Kylie Jenner wore a draped silk dress with Jolie split as sister Kendall opted for an uber tight jumpsuit with sultry sheer top section. Queen Kim might be the smallest of the trio, but her outfit was the mightiest in a red monochrome geometric print dress with super-sexy plunging neckline. Wowzers. 

Nicki Minaj

I think it's fair to say this lady is pretty much ruling the charts at the moment, so why not rule the red carpet too? True to animal-themed single Anaconda, Minaj donned a shimmering leopard print mini, keeping it understated with large curls and brilliant white heels.

CharliXCX

I'm always a fan of the brave and the bold, and budding superstar CharliXCX showed us what she was made of in this zesty zebra jumpsuit that clashed perfectly with her stilettos and jet black hair. Perfection.

Jessie J

I've always disliked Jessie J's harsh fringe so seeing her looking this ethereal got me extremely excited for a JJ fashion revival. Her passive mint green grecian gown looked A-MAZING.

Taylor Swift 

So despite the presence of an *ahem* obvious camel toe, T-Swift went risqué and totally succeeded. The sexy brocade playsuit showed off her skinny pins perfectly.

Miley Cyrus

Sobering from her hammer-licking ways, Miley Cyrus was bang on-trend for sunday's awards with a skinny leather crop and matching trousers. 

Joan Smalls

What is this sorcery? Joan Smalls' Aztec-influenced print dress is a unique beauty- I love the cape-esque feature to it. 

Solange Knowles

Channelling chic androgyny, Solange threw no punches at this years VMAs in her sparkly lady tux and voluptuous  'do.

Rita Ora

Is that Jessica Rabbit?! Showing Calvin Harris what he's missing, Rita Ora stunned in her red silk gown with eye-watering thigh split, accompanying it with sleeked back hair and killer rouge. A true high fashion spectacle. 

Worst Dressed

Katy Perry and RiffRaff

There was a reason why Britney and Justin only wore matching denim once-it looked dreadful. Perry who usually opts for ravashing pieces donned Versace with a jet black wig. Eurgh. 

Amber Rose

Despite the beauty of Amber Rose's figure, I really did think there wasn't much left to the imagination. Chain mail chic it may be, but I was thinking more along the lines of a gown as oppose to the remnants of a beaded curtain...

Beyonce

*yawn* Where was the originality in Beyonce's meek rouge piece? It may have sheer elements to it, but I couldn't help but be bored as Beyonce adopted her signature style. 

Jennifer Lopez

More for a cheesy ballroom than a red carpet event, I almost vommed at J Lo's crystal contraption. They say all that glitters is not gold- I say all that glitters is a piece of crap. 

Ariana Grande

In an attempt to shed the innocent image, it seems Miss Grande opted for snazzy stripper chic, but oh lordy did it backfire. Just like Demi Levato's too-tight Moschino disaster at the Kids Choice Awards, Ariana looked cheap. 

Chloe Moretz 

Prissy in pastel, actress Chloe Moretz looked way too sweet in her cotton candy-strawberry combo. The outfit was overall a little too grown up for the teenager who shoulf have opted for a more relaxed look.

Best Dressed

Kendall and Kylie Jenner

Every red carpet event they attend, these young ladies impress me more and more. Opting for a sleek, monochrome look, model Kendall donned PVC-esque cigarette trousers that cut off at the ankles, with a brilliant white cut-out leotard complete with ringed halter-neck (and side-boob). Kylie brought the grunge with the frayed edges of her strappy white dress and blue dip dye, contrasting them with strappy pointed stilettos.  

Iggy Azalea 

Iggy Azalea looked positively glowing in Zuhair Murad on the red carpet. Gliding along, her ethereal red gown gave her a sophisticated look with the symmetrical shapes on her sheer elements giving the gown an edge. Take note ladies: minimal make-up accentuates an outfit. 

Jennifer Lopez

Further proof that Jennifer Lopez is immortal. This lady looks flawless and no different to when she first walked the red carpet 12 years previous. Owning Donna Karen, the billowing dress with plunging neckline contained largely chiffon elements sans her high waisted shorts and a sleeveless fitted top underneath- stunning! 

Kesha

Kesha is back and she is looking as gorgeous as ever! Slightly more formal than some of her previous outfits, she chose a black and slate grey gown complete with asymmetric baroque design and a fishtail finish. Determined to keep a quirky element to her look, her beautiful up-do had an element of powder pink. 

Shakira

Wowza! Shakira was the curvaceous Queen of the red carpet last night in this intricate midnight blue bodycon. I loved the fish scale-style panels to the front of the dress and the scored look to the sleeves, all finished off with natural make-up and side-swept Hollywood curls.  

Keltie Knight

Keltie Knight's bold and arty outfit really caught my eye last night. I loved her wrapped skirt, shoulder cut-outs and the dog tooth-esque print on her two piece. I need this outfit!

Nicki Minaj

Ever since her rejuvenation as a clean cut rapper, Minaj has moved from strength to strength in terms of fashion and this Alexander McQueen creation is no different. Her daring cut-outs are just as cheeky as her personality, with a peep of under-boob. 

Worst Dressed 

Kelly Rowland 

Oh dear.. there is daring, and then there is too far. Miss Rowland seemed to burst out of her ill-fitting crop top as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her multiply split skirt. Accessorising is great, but these bracelets look more like handcuffs.. sorry Kelly.

Natasha Bedingfield 

Omg, is that you Natasha? At first glance I was extremely excited to see the wonderful Natasha Bedingfield, but what is she wearing?? the floral detail on her top is elegant and intricate, but the outfit falls flat at the trousers which make her look, dare I say it.. frumpy. 

Miranda Lambert

I might not own anything designer, but I sure as hell could have pulled out something half decent for the awards unlike Miranda Lambert here. The pink bodycon is plain and downright insipid. Boring.

Nicki Minaj

There really is nothing that beats a little black dress, and Nicki Minaj looked stunning in Alexanda McQueen at the weekend. Teaming the piece with minimal make-up, side swept hair with Hollywood curls and some gold accessories, she shone. 

Iggy Azalea 

 The daring pieces are always my favourite, and I loved the geometric shapes to this white John Galliano gown with sheer elements. Chunky futuristic perspex-look heels complete with thick black front bar juxtaposed her crimped 90's look ponytail. Fierce!

Rita Ora 

Another lady to opt for black, Ora left Coachella behind to don this Barbara Casasola piece. She combined the demure length with a plunging neckline, thick curls and rouge. Fabulous. 

Shailene Woodley

I am really feeling Game of Thrones with this Balmain outfit as moving away from the contemporary black leather, this cement green dress compliments Woodley in all the right places. Her highly detailed black heels and minimal make-up and jewellery do nothing to detract from this charming outfit. 

Rihanna

Famous for not wearing an awful lot, Riri entered the red carpet in nightwear it seems... but it really worked. The pale pink gown was warn with matching stilettos and baby pink corset. Super sexy or what. 

Lupita Nyong'o

Karl Lagerfeld did well as new actress on the block Lupita Nyong'O demonstrated this weekend. The multicoloured layers are stunning, she truly injected colour into the night and I loved her choice of bright blue heels to accompany it. 

Zac Efron

YUM. For those of you that watched the ceremony, the highlight (by a long shot) was the ripping of this shirt by Rita Ora. Swoon factor here as Efron combined a smart denim shirt (that revealed just enough arm muscle) with some super skinny jeans. Marry me?

Aaron Taylor-Johnson

I've always loved a bit of Mr Johnson (remember Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging?) but is it me, or has Aaron got like 100000x hotter? his slick polo neck with inserts showed off his *ahem* muscley build and wow those are some perfectly tight trousers. Oh la laaa.

Here is a lesson in how to wear pastels wrong. Bella's dress is AWFUL. I hate the single sleeve and the floral detail around the cleavage. Wrap-style dresses went out long ago. BLEURGH

Ellen Page

Is it just me, or has Ellen Page been dressing sloppy recently? I'm not a fan of this ill-fitting shirt. Sort it out.

Jared Leto

Dare I say this, but I preferred what Leto wore in most recent film Dallas Buyers Club! This Hawaiian shirt/straw hat combo is ghastly. This isn't Coachella Jared!

Forget Skinny: The Curvaceous Celebs I Can't Get Enough Of

For women of all ages, the pressures to look skinny are ever present due to our obsession with the celebrity ideal, and our yearning to have the perfect body in order to be accepted in society. I know for a fact that I will never be stick thin and I often feel that the pressure young women are put under by the media is unnecessary and superficial. I am always really happy to come across those celebrities who stick their two fingers up to skinny and embrace their curves- I'm not talking about your Beyoncé's or your J-Lo's, I'm talking about the BIG curves. Here are some of my favourites. 

Kim Kardashian

It's no lie that many people have a love-hate relationship with reality television star Kim Kardashian, but no-one can deny her killer curves. Along with sister Khloé, the Kardashian is famous for her bootilicious body, and her confidence has always oozed through as it is clear she suits high fashion. Despite being criticised throughout her pregnancy as her body bloated naturally, Kim remained up-beat and gracious in public and after starting a post-baby work out regime she is looking as hot as ever. I love Kim!

Iggy Azalea

Originally hailing from Australia, rapper and model Iggy Azalea relocated to the US in 2006 where she adopted the Southern way of life, living in Georgia and Texas.  Now 23, the gorgeous singer hit the big time after her 'Ignorant Art' mixtape and is currently touring America with Beyoncé. Her killer curves are the envy of many as she often dons elaborate, skin tight high fashion pieces in addition to working alongside major labels like House of Holland.

Whitney Thompson

Winner of America's Next Top Model, the lovely Whitney Thompson is definitely an inspiration of mine.  I interviewed her a few months ago and she also talked to the Daily Mail this month about the abuse she gets for her size. In the US, plus size begins at a mere 6 (size 10 in the UK) and the model told the national newspaper that she is often called a 'fat cow'. Ridiculous and totally gratuitous, it is such a shame that some people believe her figure is not wonderful!

Miss Minaj may not be to everyone's taste, but her beautiful figure is undeniable. I love her outlandish style, her loose mouth and her pride in her body. She openly talks about the pressures of being a female rapper in a male dominated industry and mentions her body shape throughout her music.

Lydia Rose Bewley

She may be a little known actress at the moment, but Bewley's stunning looks and acting talent will definitely see her go far. For fans of The Inbetweeners Movie, you may recognise her as character Jane, Jay's love interest. Of a majority of the cast members, she is the only one with a fuller figure and I cannot wait to see her in the new e4 series Drifters.
