Best and Worst Dressed at V Festival 2013

Every year during the penultimate weekend in August, music lovers and celebrities alike descend on the Virgin festival held in two locations: Chelmsford in Essex as well as Weston Park in Staffordshire. The festival saw a range of performances from the likes of Beyonce, Jessie J, Rita Ora and Kings of Leon and many stars were seen supporting their fellow singers. Let's take a look at the fashion from the event. 

 

Best Dressed: 

Rita Ora

Three words.. I. want. one. This burnt orange animal print sweater with matching trousers looks uber comfy! I love that Miss Ora has combined such a casual look with some beach curls, striking rouge and glitter platforms. Go girl.

Paloma Faith

As in my last gliph, I really can't contain my excitement over mosaic print, and I love this unusual Grecian style patterned dress with matching scarf and earrings. I think it suits Paloma down to the ground and definitely gave a splash of colour to a cloudy weekend.

Cara Delevingne

Yes! I am loving the floral and spotted elements of these casual trousers model Cara Delevingne wore last weekend and you can't go wrong with a leather biker jacket. 

Pixie Lott

Although some may disagree with me, It is definitely a breath of fresh air to see elements of quirky outfits at festivals. Far from the feathers and tassels, I am loving Pixie Lott's flag hot pants and graphic tee. No outfit would be complete without her signature cat ears either! Hot to trot.

Jameela Jamil 

I love the fact that Jameela has taken the traditional festival look and given it a funky edge. Masses of black make way for those striking white-rimmed sunglasses and a dial phone clutch bag. She keeps it casual in a parka but incorporates the ever-popular animal print in her patterned tights. 

Ellie Goulding 

Miss Goulding always looks amazing, and I especially liked this iridescent sequin top she wore to one of the backstage parties at the weekend. Teaming it with some comfy trainers makes her look bang on trend. 


Tom Odell

Tom Odell always looks super cute in whatever he wears, but I especially loved this denim and cream bomber jacket with skinny jeans. Swooooon

 

 

Worst Dressed: 

Mutya from MKS

OH M GEE. Mutya, I know tents can be slightly dark in the morning, but did you really wake up and think this combination of clothing was acceptable? Sheepskin boots, an over sized sports tee and lace tights are a disastrous combination. Totally disappointed. 

 

Mollie King

Ew Mollie! I am not really a fan of what The Saturdays wear anyway, but this denim atrocity breaks too many fashion rules. I can't handle the amount of zips that make up the outfit, and no sleeves? WHY.  

 

Jessie J

Nappy ahoy for Jessie J during her V Festival appearance,she seems to resemble what Miley Cyrus will look like in 10 years. Bandage is definitely out and although her costume resembles monochrome, her over sized hoops are tacky. Sorry Jessie. 

 

Azealia Banks

Bizarre rapper Azealia Banks looked her usual shade of weird during her slot at V with zombie contact lenses and a lime green and white netted jumpsuit. I don't think I need to explain why she is present on my worst dressed list. Just take a gander. 

 

 

Alexandra Burke

Oh wow. Is that a cape, or a top? because Alexandra Burke's attempt to look like a superhero has back-fired: she needs saving herself. It's totally lovely that you decided to match your top with some lemon TALONS to replace your nails, but this look isn't cute. Go home.

Lindsay Lohan Talks to Oprah about her Cocaine and Alcohol Addiction in Candid Interview

For 27-year old child actress Lindsay Lohan, the road to recovery has been a slow and bumpy one but just four days after getting out of rehab, the star decided to take part in an interview with famous talk show host Oprah Winfrey in order to come clean about her addictions.

Lohan was only sixteen minutes into the talk before Oprah dived in with the question
"Are you an addict?"
The Parent Trap star said yes before admitting alcohol was her drug of choice before adding "That, in the past was a gateway to other things for me." 
She then revealed she had taken cocaine "ten to fifteen times" and said although she didn't enjoy it, her reasoning for taking it was so she could drink more. She then told the host "it was a party thing.  People would have it and I would do it"

After much persistence, Oprah also got the actress to confess to being addicted to Adderall, the prescription drug used to treat ADHD: "That's all I knew.. I was convinced that it did ground me". She then added "I don't need it [now]" and insisted she does not consume any prescription drugs.
Shockingly Lohan also admitted she got so desperate, she wanted to be sent to jail.
"Part of my decision was, at that point… strangely, being in my addiction and everything, and having all the chaos around me that I was so comfortable with, I somewhere inside knew, and kind of wanted, to go to jail"

Teary-eyed through most of the interview, she broke down when explaining the guilt she felt after seeing her family upset with her court appearances. 
Lohan admitted it was talks with her lawyer Shawn Holley that convinced her to go into rehab for the sixth time.
"The other times it tended to be a punishment,' she said. 'I don't think I've ever fully surrendered to the fact that I just need to shut up and listen. In this case, I wasn't fighting, at all. I just let go"
She also addressed her chaotic family past, and said her downward spiral began after the success of Mean Girls and her move to Los Angeles. She also admitted
"I wasted so much money. I was living at a hotel and I had an apartment. I wasn't really being guided. No-one was [there]".

Marnie Simpson Joins Geordie Shore Gang as MTV Confirm Sophie WILL Appear in Season 7

If the current season of Geordie Shore hadn't created controversy enough, it seems season seven that was recently filmed up in Newcastle has got a number of fans asking several questions. A month back, cast member Sophie was suspended from filming after being overheard using a racial slur. This Monday, MTV then announced a new face that would be entering the infamous house. 


     
Marnie Simpson will be joining the gang for the seventh season and is none other than Sophie's younger cousin. Her entrance will be a surprise to the cast and the network tell fans that it isn't long until Gaz and Scotty T start vying for her attention- do we see another fight looming?
The 20 year-old is from South Shields and a former contender for the title for Miss Newcastle. When talking to MTV she proclaimed: 

“I think the girls will find it hard not to like me, but I know they will think I’m prettier than them. I don’t give in to guys easily, so the boys will have a chase on their hands.” 

She also promised that she would bring more drama to the show- SIGH. 
Sophie took to Instagram to tell the fans not to worry about her cousin becoming her replacement, saying that she will be present in the seventh season as it has already completed filming. Full message below:

Best Dressed at the Teen Choice Awards 2013

The annual Teen Choice Awards were held last night at 8pm ET and after counting up more than 150 million votes, Darren Criss of Glee along with Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars co-hosted the ceremony and revealed the winners of the prestigious surf boards for yet another year. Let's take a look at the best and worst dressed of the night.  

 

Best Dressed: 

 

Lily Collins

Collins took monochrome to new levels in this beautiful palm tree-print mixi dress with defined padded shoulders. I loved the subtle pink tones to the inside of the gown and her thick, messy up-do contrasts this crisp piece. Perfect. 

 

Selena Gomez

Forever in my best dressed, Miss Gomez struck gold again in this fabulous forest green cut-out dress. Nude heels, dark nails and dead-straight hair give her a more sophisticated look too.

Nina Dobrev 

Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev looked fabulous in this paint-splash peplum top with matching trousers. Her moss green heels were extremely subtle and all in all, the two piece complimented her figure wonderfully. 

 

Kerry Washington

How adorable is Kerry Washington's mini dress? The actress donned a baby pink piece embellished with lips, hearts and intricate jewels. I NEED THIS DRESS. 


One Direction

*WOLF WHISTLE* It seems the 1D boys have massively grown up since their X Factor days in terms of fashion. I'm loving the mix of denim, brilliant white and slate grey but my favourite element has to be Harry's hat- young Johnny Depp or what. 


Bella Thorne

I am a massive fan of long sleeves, and when I saw this cute palm tree-print piece similar to Lily Collins' I fell in love! The tutu-style skirt is super cute and her loose curls are casual so do nothing to distract from this gorgeous dress.

Sasha Pieterse

A mosaic-style bodysuit combined with retro flairs equals the perfect outfit in my eyes! Blown away by this and I loved her cylindrical turquoise and cream clutch too.  


Crystal Reed

Two pieces are definitely what is in right now (hurry down to the shops to bag yours!) and I love this dog tooth-esque piece worn by Teen Wolf  actress Crystal Reed. Contrasting her monochrome outfit is her striking rouge, brilliant white solid clutch and metallic heels- go girl!


Cher Lloyd 

Oh wow, Miss Lloyd has gone from strength to strength since she ditched those trackies for something more sophisticated. I love her retro long bob and her black and gold themed two piece.  Enjoying these thin horizontal stripes and even though she looks slightly like Christmas wrapping with that bow, the chunky chain redeems the outfit!

Little Mix

These Brits abroad make me truly proud! I love how Little Mix co-ordinate their clothing and it seems they went for a more gothic edge in monochrome. I love Perrie's cheeky touch of pink with some pastel lipstick and feather earrings too.

Worst Dressed at the Teen Choice Awards 2013

Although there were many winners at this year's Teen Choice Awards which were held last night, the red carpet was definitely full of losers in fashion. Let's take little peak at the disastrous outfits that plagued the evening . 


Worst Dressed: 


Miley Cyrus

Oh Miley.. I know you wanted to change your image, but dominatrix is not in darling. I hate her thin netted top with leather bikini-style bra and her 'skirt' does simply look like an abundance of belts put together. Not cute. I do love her hair though...


Demi Lovato

I have to admit I am very fussy when it comes to leather and I just don't think twee Demi Lovato suits a rock chick look. I do like her quiff but her boot-heels are formidable and I am not a fan of her frilly blazer. 


Nelly 

Oh wow Nelly... what were you thinking? This eggshell tee is pretty vile, is that a diamond.. ON A SKATEBOARD?  WTH. Leather basketball shorts are a no-no and do your shoe laces up. 


Jennifer Farley

JWOWW looks more suited to a prom than this fun and funky award show..Her cleavage is almost popping out of the boob-tube she is wearing and I am not keen on the netting hanging from the back of the dress. Sorry Jen. 


Jordin Sparks

Stripes are always good, in moderation, but this piece Jordin Sparks donned did not suit her at all, least of all because it finished as a turtle neck. Although it showed off her fabulous figure, I thought the colour was all wrong, and who wants a dress to start where your chin ends??


Ian Somerhalder

Oh lordy.. leather trousers look good on NO-ONE. Mr Somerhalder would have done better had he opted for a suit as this outfit is far too gothic for my liking. Nina Dobrev is probably sighing in relief. 

Ed Sheeran

Is it just me, or has Ed Sheeran got a bit chub chubs lately? the Lego House singer made a wrong move with double denim.

The Confessions Of My Dream Movie Boyfriend...

So when I was surfing the snazzy Glipho app the other day I came across L.Bel's gliph where she discussed her fictional character crushes. She had some awesome choices which I fully concurred with and I enjoyed reading it so much that I decided to compile my own selection of hunky heartthrobs. Enjoy! 

1. Romeo- Romeo+Juliet 

For me, Shakespeare is a huge weak point. The eloquent language is swoon-worthy and for that reason, the character of Romeo is on my list of dream boyfriends. He has an extremely vulnerable side too and is willing to go against his family for love. Anyone willing to scale a wall to get into your balcony window gets my vote too.

2. Driver- Drive

Ryan Gosling's character in Drive is so cool and collected, he doesn't even have a name. Any man with a bit of mystery is attractive, and the Driver certainly delivers in that sense. He wears the same clothes throughout the film, yet still seems to look impeccably smart. Check out those blue eyes too. 

3. Marty McFly- Back To The Future 

This one is kind of embarrassing, but I have always had a little crush on Michael J.Fox. Demonstrating below his amazing ability to pull off double denim, Marty manages to combine equal amounts of ignorance and intelligence.Someone who has access to a time machine is someone I want to associate myself with.

4. Jason Bourne- The Bourne Trilogy

What do you get if you mix self-defense, intelligence, vulnerability and pretty face? JASON BOURNE. To me, Mr Bourne is in a superior league to James Bond and his amnesia gives him a sensitive side- he even gives the women in his life a pretty good hair cut. How can you resist?!

5. Dave- Kick Ass

By day he is Dave Lizewski, but by night this goofy teen transforms himself into Kick Ass, possibly the most clumsy and humdrum superhero there is. His passion for wanting to help people and his sheer disregard for the dangers he is entering into earns him massive respect from me. What a cutey. 

6. Harry Osborn- Spiderman 

I loved the character of Harry Osborn in Spiderman, he is so underrated. The element of his personality that impresses me is his determination. Despite it being an obsession with killing Peter Parker, he is nonetheless a man with ambition. His face isn't too bad either. 

7. Chuck Bass- Gossip Girl 

I know this is cheating, but my last dream boyfriend is from CW's Gossip Girl. I LOVE CHUCK BASS. He is suave, sophisticated, playful and has THE most amazing accent. Despite his dark side, his eternal yearning to be with his first love Blair Waldorf is knee-weakening and anyone who can win an argument by simply stating 'I'm Chuck Bass' is pretty much flawless.
